The Invitation
The first thing you do for the perfect party, of course, is pick a date and decide who you’re going to invite. Who you invite depends on the occasion. For example, if you have a new job, you may choose to ask some new colleagues. When organizing a party, it is always helpful to notify those you want to invite as early in advance as possible. Most people have busy schedules and by giving notice in time that you are organizing a party, everyone can still keep that day free. Of course, it’s nice if all your loved ones come to the party.
Theme party
An unforgettable and the perfect party should of course be themed. From Hawaii and disco, to Halloween and jungle: everything you want is possible. However, it is useful to take in mind which themes are appropriate for which occasion. For a party with new colleagues a theme such as “masked ball” or “black and white” is more appropriate than a theme such as “proud to be wrong” or “cheap and vulgar”.
The great thing about a theme is that you can base your entire party on it. It starts, of course, with your outfit. If you are having a party in the theme of the ‘Crown’, then you can buy a princess dress, for example. Does your party have a ‘farm’ theme? Do you want to be a good host or hostess? Then of course it is important that there is enough food and drink. The amount you buy depends on the number of people attending. Make a guest list to estimate how much food and drink needs to be purchased. Are there a lot of men coming? Then make sure you have enough beer in the house. It’s nice to get snacks and drinks that fit the type of party. Are you going for a more sophisticated approach? Then you can, for example, make different amusements, such as oysters and shrimp cocktails. Is the party nice and low key? Then you can make most people happy with some pizza and chips.
Getting the house ready
And last but not least: prepare your house for the party. Make sure the house is ready for stupid drunk people, for example remove the white carpet if there are a lot of people coming. It is useful to make a list of what you will need in advance. Buy decorations that match the theme. Are you going for a summer hawaii theme? Then buy cheerful hawaii decorations (hawaii decoratie). For example, you can buy balloons to decorate the house, rent speakers to play music and make sure you have enough glasses and plates available.
